West 8 / Miami Beach Square

Miami Beach Square is the centerpiece of their 52 acre Miami Convention Center. It will become the new civic heart of the district and a destination in the city. West 8 together with BIG, Fentress, JPA and developers Portman and CMC proposed Miami Beach Square.

Walkable urban fabric

Miami Beach streetscape is characterized by a lively walkable urban fabric with a friendly human scaled environment under the cool shade of tropical trees and art deco canopies. Aim of the plan is to bring Miami Beach back to the Convention Center – and to design an urban space unique to the climate and culture of Miami Beach.
